This tutorial will teach you how to design your very own web2.0 sticker using Photoshop. Download link is at the end of the tutorial
Step 1
Create a new canvas with these settings.
Using the Oval Shape Tool
create a perfect circle (Hold down Shift while dragging with the tool). Make sure you choose a nice color(If you lack the inspiration, try using the same orange we used) . Next, rasterize the layer by right-clicking the layer name and selecting rasterize layer.
Time to make our small fold. Use the Marquee Tool
to select the lower part of your circle.
With the Circle layer selected, Cut (Ctrl+x or Cmd+x), create a new layer and paste(Ctrl+v or Cmd+v). Place the freshly cut part where it was before you cut it out. Go to Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical
Then , select your layer contents (on the new layer) using ctrl+click or cmd+click on the layer and Edit>Fill it with a darker shade of orange(or the color you chose).
Your Sticker should look like this:
Step 2
We need to make our sticker look more lifelike. First of all select both the layers then do ctrl+t or cmd+t and rotate your Composition until it’s nice and random.
Now, select the layer contents of bigger piece (the lighter part) and using the Gradient Tool fill our circle with a linear gradient using these settings(it will most likely look wrong the first time. The trick is to start dragging the gradient from the lighter part then go past the normal border. This will cause the darker area to be smaller compared to the lighter one.):
Good. Now let’s add some depth using shadows. On your upper layer (the smaller shape) add a Drop Shadow (from the FX menu, under the layer list) with these settings:
Then, on the other layer (the big one), add an Outer Glow effect with these settings:
Lastly, add some text to your sticker and voila!
